How to find a therapist near me

Okay Richard so let’s say for example like I want it for a counsellor what was the first thing I should be doing? Looking for Therapist London ?

It’s not really like looking for a plumber or builder because you can put on notice up on social media Facebook somewhere. Is there anyone recommend a good plumber? I tend to find people don’t do that because they don’t want to advertise that they’re having counselling. So even though I get lots and lots of people come to me hardly anyone ever comes to me because I’ve been recommended hopefully it’s not because I’m doing a bad job. so these days of course it’s getting on to the computer with a search engine like Google and looking at websites that’s typically what people do to find a counsellor but then okay once you’ve typed in say the place you’re in I mean Leeds or Manchester whatever its put Manchester counselling or Leads counselling you get a whole list of people. Then you start looking at their websites or what you look for well a good pointer to start with is experience and you can tell by looking at people’s CVs what they say about themselves? How long he is been practicing? It does make a difference I have been working for 20 years in this job I am sure I’m better at it but if I was looking for at therapist I’d want to get a feel for who they are? What they’re like? From what they write on website?

You could do a video on Youtube because so many people who come to see me they say well I chose to see you because I’ve got a sense of you having a life you know having doubt to being a person. Well some kind of a distant professional.

Like a solicitor dressed up smartly as she does therapy as well as legal stuff.

Well people one of the most important things when someone go for a first session and helpfully other sessions is can I talk to this person. You know cause if you are going for therapy or counselling and you know you’ve got this problem some difficulty and you got to talk about it but it’s uncomfortable to talk about. You don’t just talk about to with anyone or work colleagues might be some very intimate you might be able to talk about and that’s what people are looking for I see when they are checking out therapist on a website.
